The United States Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) is pleased to congratulate the Honorable Chris Hanson upon his appointment by President Biden as Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Chairman Hanson brings a wealth of experience from his tenure in the Legislative Branch, as well as time already served as a commissioner of the NRC. His willingness to listen, coupled with his appreciation for the many benefits of the advantages and advancements in all things nuclear, are welcomed.

As Chairman, Chris will provide leadership to a talented and dedicated team of commissioners at the NRC. His demonstrated collegiality will serve everyone well as the commissioners and staff focus on important matters before the NRC. Theirs is an important job from a scientific, safety, and national security perspective, and Chairman Hanson’s leadership, no doubt, will advance each of these issues, and many more, ably and constructively.
