The Advanced Reactors Summit VI at the University of California San Diego has partnered with UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering to feature a Nuclear Energy Career Fair with leading students from one of the world's top programs for engineering, technology and computer sciences. The Career Fair includes the school's corresponding affiliate programs: Corporate Affiliates Program; Center for Energy Research; and Office of Research Affairs.
The AR Summit VI Career Fair on January 29 will include leading global nuclear energy companies and national laboratories as well as a welcome reception co-sponsored by TerraPower at UC San Diego's Price Center, located on the University's campus. This year's Summit will feature updates from leading advanced reactor technology trailblazers along with key industry and government influentials.
The highly-touted Jacobs School of Engineering ranks sixth best in the nation among public institutions for engineering, and first among all public engineering schools for research expenditures per faculty member, reflecting UC San Diego's leadership as a cutting edge university. With nearly 9,000 engineering students, Jacobs School of Engineering ranks first in California for bachelor's degrees awarded in engineering and computer science, second in the nation for bachelor's degrees in engineering and computer science awarded to women, and third in the nation for bachelor's degrees awarded in engineering and computer science (ASEE 2017 data, published June 2018).
The Summit VI & Showcase is the largest cross-cutting technology gathering of the Advanced Reactor community in the United States with more than 300 participants expected for its array of events. In addition to the Career Fair, Summit events include an Awards Reception on January 30 and a Technology Trailblazers Showcase at the January 30-31 Summit plenary. The agenda will be highlighted by five overarching technical panels -- in addition to global keynotes, special updates on key initiatives and featured technology trailblazers.
